The blessings just keep rolling
in! So many things happening this month
I have to carry a calendar around with me to keep track. Such as…
My baby with their baby and his family
Last weekend we were at Fort Sill,
Oklahoma to see our grandson graduate from Army basic training. The blessing was made all the more sweet by
the ability to squeeze, hug, kiss and just generally schmooze with our Chicago
children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. We see them all too seldom and time with them
is precious. It is really hard to let
them go when we leave them. Add to that the fact that the graduation was all
kinds of beautiful pomp and glory and you have a recipe for a perfect three
days.
Grandson holding our great-grandson (Carrie's grandson)
This is followed by a huge birthday
party for our youngest grandson who turns 21 on Friday. I don’t know how that is possible because I
AM NOT old enough for that. You know I
tell the truth! Just look at this
selfie. See what I mean—not old enough.
Sweet DIL (my daughter in all the ways that count) with me in my first selfie
Then, Monday brings graduation for the granddaughter who is the recipient of many of your kind and loving prayers. Sam and her parents can’t be any more proud than we are. We have all (that means all of you too) carried her through a really bad time on the wings of prayers and healing thoughts.
The special graduation invitation was
her idea. The front reads, “You never know how strong you are
until being strong is the only choice you have.” The back is good too…
We started the month with Macy
turning 12 and are ending it with DH turning 39 (a year older than I am). Son and DIL take off for Paris and
backpacking through Europe. Throw in a
54th wedding anniversary on the 18th—I don’t remember who
that is but it’s on my calendar. All in
all, a busy, happy, thrilling month.
We are all sleeping through the month
of July!
Life is good.
