Look What I Found

I love to find new products and I love, even more, to share them with my friends.  I’m not a BIG shopper—as in go to the mall and shop for hours.  I order a lot of stuff from Amazon so I don’t have to go shopping.  Otherwise, I just pick things up when I encounter something that is just too good to pass up.  So, here are my new favorite things.

I am a Tic Tac fiend.  I don’t chew gum by order of my dentist so I often have a Tic Tac in my mouth.  They are small and easy to talk around.  When I find interesting flavors—not the usual red, green, orange, white—I jump at the chance to buy them.  Sometimes I am greatly disappointed and others times I strike pay-dirt.  Such was the case with Cherry Cola and Strawberry Fields.  Yes, the Cherry Cola does indeed taste like Cherry Cola, including the fizz.  Strawberry fields are only strawberry-ish, but still a pleasant flavor.

I have also discovered I can dehydrate my own foods, such as banana chips, pineapple strips and fruit roll-ups, accomplished with a not too expensive ($39) Presto dehydrator.  I have even made chicken and beef jerky for the pups, without any preservatives and additives.  Prep time is much quicker than I expected, mostly because I don’t add any sugar, marinades or infusions, and drying time is super-fast (3 to 5 hours). Dehydro is seen here drying four trays of strawberry/banana roll-ups...

Another excellent find:  when the Vet told me Macy could no longer be fed anything that included grains, sugar or rice, my first question was, “What do I use to make dog treats?”  The answer--something like garbanzo bean flour.
Did you know they actually make garbanzo bean flour?  I didn’t, and it wasn’t hard to find.  I first tried Sprouts Farmers Market and found it easily.  Then I found that I can order it from Amazon.  When I found it at Wal-Mart I was amazed!  So the pups are eating cookies baked by mom and made from garbanzo bean flour,  egg, all natural peanut butter and pumpkin.  They love them!!

I love these pictures of the pups, both at about 6 months…

Life is good.

I'm not a fan of shopping - usually in and out with things from my list; however, I do like to dawdle in thrift shops. The cherry cola tic tacos sound tasty.

Clever you to dehydrate your own fruit to make chips and roll-ups.

I hope the pups tummies are better now. I'm glad you've found a way to keep giving them your homemade treats :) I love your shares. My son is a huge tic tac fiend. I admit to fist pumping when I found the ones that were Minion decorated. I'm intrigued by the cherry cola ones and will keep an eye out. They fizz?!?

Oh, I'll have to tell the Knight about the strawberry treats... I'm not a candy girl, but he likes it enough for both of us.

LOVE the baby photos. Isn't it great to find a new way to take better care of your pups? I'm sorry Macy is on the special needs wagon with us, but thankfully, safe alternatives are accessible these days.
