Did You Get That Truck's Number?

Both DH and I went to bed last night feeling like we had been hit by an 18-wheeler.  One minute I was Christmas shopping online and the next making a mad dash to the vet with two very sick dogs, while on the phone with DD getting information about our granddaughter who was at that moment being taken into emergency surgery.  Whew!!  That's a whopper right?  Well let me tell you--before I got back with the dogs and left again for the hospital I received a call from DIL about her doctor's diagnosis that she is having a cancer biopsy in the next few days and may have to have surgery.  Phul-e-e-e-z-e  STOP!!

One of the worst parts of all this is that the only truly effective thing we were able to do all day was take the dogs to the vet.  Wait--that's not true.  We did a LOT of praying.  I have learned over the years that the most powerful thing we can do in any situation is pray.  Did it help?  Of course it did!!

The dogs have a bacterial infection (probably from eating a dead squirrel or live lizard or such) and are well on the way to recovery with two antibiotics, a probiotic, and a special diet for a week.  Granddaughter is recovering from multiple ovarian cysts.  DIL is recovering from the first surgery and I'm certain it will be discovered that nothing more is necessary except careful watching.  How do I know that? Faith!

Some days you are just minding your own business and a Mack truck hits you while you are walking along the busy highway of life.  I'd like to say I am just going to stay out of the road but it doesn't work that way.  So I'm taking the day off to rest in the healing power of prayer and faith.  No knitting going on, I'm just going to close my eyes and visualize GD#3 healing, DIL being cured, the dogs learning not to eat garbage (we do what we can).  Peace....

I was reading right along and praying too, until I guffawed. All things are possible, but do let me know if prayer defeats dogs eating garbage! ;)

Wishing you peace, and healing for those around you.

PRaying for your fur and non fur family...

YOu asked about the holes in the fingerless mitts. I made two rows of YO, K2Tog, but they closed up pretty much when I felted them. I had this thought that I would put shoelaces through the holes when I felted them to try to keep them open....
