Super Things

Last week was a strange week!!  DIL’s dear Mother passed away at the grand age of 96.  She was a regal and beautiful lady and like everything else she did in her life she left us in striking style—quietly in her sleep.  She will be missed!  Shortly before her passing DIL’s sweet little Chihuahua passed in his sleep.  Then there was the passing of Mayor Ed Koch and the Chris Kyle thing.  All of them super people and, yes, it was a strange week!!  Note:  I am also reminded of the passing of the sister of sweet Grace our knitting blog buddy.  Our hearts and prayers are with you Grace!

This week I choose to think on super happy events, not the least of which was that bowl thingy.  I’m not into football except that I enjoy watching the Bears play and only the Bears (the Cowboys never run across my screen), and I love any event that causes my family to gather.  This time we gathered at fireman son’s house and ate, talked, laughed, played with the cats, drank beer and wine, and watched a little football. I knitted socks (in the chair in the foreground).  BTW who won that game?

It was super to see Colby looking much improved and clearly engrossed in the game.

Some of the family and friends chose to gather outside to chat and…

Watch the game.

I have started on the very super Lorna’s Laces camouflage mitts.  I am always happy knitting with Lorna’s Laces!!  It is really great yarn.  Super even!

I’m sure you know by now that I live with Superman.  When I pinched a nerve in my back last week (while picking up a pillow from the floor) he came up with a super grilled hamburger and salad with goat cheese without breaking a sweat and was super proud of himself!!  In case you are wondering, the trick to living with Superman is in knowing where the Kryptonite is stored.

Macy and Max were either angry about being left out or were ailing also.

Life is good.

I'm so very sorry to hear about the passing of your DIL's mother. That's never easy. And about the little dog. Glad to hear the cat is doing better. I'm a huge fan of lorna's laces. Lovely yarn! g
