Oh What A Beautiful Morning

I’d like to say that everything is going my way but I will simply settle for a beautiful morning!  I clipped herbs from the garden for the first time yesterday and the scent was so powerful I expected the neighbors to be hanging over the fence, begging for handouts.  Considering the fact that I planted enough basil, mint, parsley, rosemary, sage, and cilantro that I could supply an army—not a problem!

I have the best of two worlds because I wake up in the morning thinking about the knitting I will work on that day, and go to sleep thinking about the garden, where I work for a few hours every evening.  (I don’t know if you can see them, but the tomatoes are behind the lattice where they will get partial sun and the cucumbers are in front of the lattice for climbing).

It doesn’t get any better!  No dreaming of diamonds and jewels for me, I just want a basil plant that will grow as high as Ina Garten’s.  That baby must be four feet tall!!

Still to plant in the empty corner of the herb garden:

Last night we had potato pierogies with steamed broccoli.  I lavishly sprinkled fresh herbs over the broccoli as it was cooking.  When DH said it was the best broccoli he had ever eaten, I just nodded and smiled.  I LOVE my garden!!

Macy loves sleeping in the sun…

Life is good!

What a happy, cheerful post! Just what I needed on day # whatever of virtually no sunshine...

Doing what you love makes Life Good: I'm glad you are in that zone.

I gave up gardening many years ago when my health was iffy; now, I wish the grass hadn't overtaken the garden plot. I don't have the energy to dig it all up.

Katherine

SImple pleasures are the BEST !!!!

I must have seen your garden and copied you unknowingly.
I have planted an herb garden this year.
Chives, cilantro, rosemary and basil.
I go out every day and look for growth...the chives were by seed and they aren't UP yet.

MMMMMM, and Macy is adorable
